Suffolk hip-hop artist Jake Aldridge has announced the release of his new single – a collaboration with girlfriend and upcoming singer Kelly Brooks.
In the Clouds is due for release on Sunday February 14 and will be available for download from iTunes.
The 28-year-old from Lowestoft had a busy 2015, signing a publishing deal with Leopard Music, a synchronisation deal with Go DIY Records and a sponsorship deal with an Asia-based clothing line.
Jake said Kelly’s vocals provided the perfect accompaniment for his rap. “The song is about encouraging people to be more carefree, to even go against the grain a little bit,” he said.
“It’s easy to let the struggles of life wear you down and I wanted this track to be like a breath of fresh air to people, a reminder that it’s ok to live life on the edge from time to time.”
Jake’s music career came about rather unexpectedly after losing his father at the age of 11.
He turned to his diary as a way to cope with his grief, crafting the words he had written into rhymes and poems, which he then began performing to music.
Now Jake has racked up more than 100,000 music plays online and has worked with some top names in the industry.
The music video for his previous single Give You the World, which was filmed in Spain, reached number one in the VYTO video charts.
