Diss paid the price for a lack of discipline on Saturday as they stumbled to a 2-1 defeat at home to Cornard United.

The Tangerines had five players booked and midfielder Luke Catchpole sent off, all for dissent in response to a frustrating display from Lowestoft referee Neil Jacques.

Ben Lawson put Cornard ahead after five minutes with the help of a deflection.

The visitors doubled their lead a minute before half-time when the Diss defence was caught napping at a free-kick and Jason Carter rolled the ball into an unguarded net from 25 yards.

Catchpole was sent off after 63 minutes but that seemed to give Diss more focus to their play and they put together their spell of the match.

They gained reward after 74 minutes when Ben Soanes bundled in Danny Partridge's cross but they were unable to find an equaliser.
