The pirates claimed the day at Mendham Regatta.
The skull and cross-bone raft was the first of about six homemade rafts to pass the finishing line under the bridge at the regatta, helmed by Harry Jackson and Barnaby Carless.

Organised by the Mendham and Withersdale community council, spokesman Graham Taylor said the turn-out was good and the regatta and fun day went to plan.

The hot weather attracted a fine crowd to cheer on the rafts, with a barbecue and beer marquee available to quench thirsts.

The tug of war, with one team on each side of the Waveney, ended in chaos with the pub landlord, Lee Wright, being thrown into the river.

Money raised will go towards local organisations including the Women's Institute, the youth club and Withersdale football club.
