The event, which is in its fourth year, counted down the area's top ten favourite hymns, while raising money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer was this year's most popular hymn, followed by How Great Thou Art and I The Lord Of Sea And Sky.
A collection raised £701 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Anglia TV News presenter Stephen Lee, who grew up in Harleston, was guest of honour at the event.
"It was great – I was really impressed to see so many people in the church," he said. "I think I got the last parking space in Diss. I even saw my old RE teacher in the congregation."
During the event, Mr Lee spoke about the importance of the East Anglian Air Ambulance and how it has been prominent in the news during his ten years with Anglia Television.
"It's a very familiar sight in our newsroom," he said. "Who knows, it could be coming for one of us at any point, so it's a great thing to have around."
Big Sing organiser Gerry Hosking said he was pleased with the event and the large turnout.
"I couldn't see anything wrong with it at all," he said. "This year we had five hymns in the top ten that hadn't been there before, which made it different. You'll have to wait and see what happens next year."
