It proved a busy week for Diss and District Angling Club who hosted a number of matches with some impressive catches achieved.
A strong field took part in the West Charity Open and it was junior member Brandon Harrold who took first place with a haul made up mainly of skimmer weighing in at 34lb 9oz, ahead of Jimmy Ellis with a mixed bag weighing 25lb 9oz and Billy Hughes with 21lb 6oz.
Bill Adkins took top honours in a silver match at Hinderclay Lakes with a winning haul of 19lb 9oz ahead of Andrew Mears (18lb 9oz) and Richard Crisp (18lb 3oz), while there was further joy for Harrold at Diss Mere in as he took victory with a 17lb 9oz total ahead of Brad Potter (11lb 13oz) and Oliver Pegg (7lb 10oz).
Ben Wilby came out on top at Thornahm Fisheries with a winning total of 59lb 3oz to finish well ahead of Billy Crisp (40lb 13oz), while John Mears took third place with a 24lb 10oz haul.
In the Brockdish Cup Andrew Mears took top spot with 2lb 12oz to clinch the trophy ahead of Ben Wilby (11lb) and Mark Ling (14oz).
Meanwhile, Abbey Waters is now open to fish with a Diss and District licence only.
