Diss and District Bowls Club member Carole Baker retained her Over-60’s singles crown after returning from the National Finals at Nottingham Bowls Club with the tophy once again.
Having safely progressed through the semi-finals with a convincing 21-7 success, Baker continued her impressive form this season to overcome England international player Doreen Hankin in what was a hard-fought 21-17 victory.
Baker, who has been crowned Champion of Champions twice and represented England, also reached the quarter-finals of the Over-60’s pairs event along with partner Pat Last, losing by just one shot.
“This is what can be achieved even if you belong to a smaller club like Diss and District,” said Baker following her success.
