Unbeaten Magpies return to indoor Premier League
Harleston Magpies Ladies made an instant return to the Premier League after clinching promotion from Indoor National League Division One.
Playing in the competition over the previous two weeks, Harleston travelled to Nottingham Trent University to face eight other clubs from around the country.
Their quest for promotion got off to the perfect start as a four-goal haul from eventual top scorer Emma Lee-Smith was added to by Sarah Brook to claim a 5-1 success over Surbiton.
Lee-Smith was again on target as Magpies came from behind to beat Brooklands Poynton 4-2, before goals from Lee-Smith (3), Brook and Charlotte Harrison saw the team come from 5-1 down to clinch a draw with East Grinstead.
The first weekend finished in winning fashion with Brook and Lee-Smith vital in a 2-0 win over Wakefield.
A 4-3 win over Trojans kicked off the second weekend, courtesy of Harrison and Lee-Smith (3), before four further goals from the latter was added to by Brooks (2) sealed a 6-2 success over Sevenoaks.
Lee Smith then went one better, netting five in 6-0 win over Bristol Firebrands, before the Magpies finished the tournament in style with a 6-0 rout over Horsham, fittingly courtesy of Lee-Smith (5) and Brooks, sealing second place and an immediate return to the Premier League.
