AFC Hoxne completed the double over Old Newton on Saturday to continue their promotion push.
In a positive first half for the home team, Robert Peake notched two goals, which were his first strikes of 2017.
Alex Blakely converted a free-kick, while Old Newton remained in contention thanks to Adam Barton’s effort.
The outcome was made safe in the second half when Blakely crossed for Kiefer Bultitude, who turned the ball in at the near post.
The win leaves Hoxne second in the table, one point behind current table-toppers Claydon.
Tomorrow, they play host to fifth-placed Stowupland Falcons (2.30pm).
n Wjotek Kawa’s 30th goal of the season helped AFC Hoxne Reserves to record a 3-0 win over Old Newton United Reserves in the Intermediate A League.
Joe Rumsey and Aaron Day were also on target for Hoxne’s second string.
n AFC Hoxne Veterans were soundly beaten 4-1 by Bungay Veterans, with Arun Lucraft netting the consolation goal.
n In the Almary Green Anglian Combination Premier Division, Harleston Town maintained their 100 per cent winning record this year by beating Reepham Town 3-0.
Scott Roberts, Nicky Howell and James Morrissey were on target for Harleston, who will face Fakenham Town in the semi-finals of the Norfolk Senior Cup on Wednesday March, 15.
Tomorrow, Adam Gusterson’s second-placed side host St Andrews (2pm) and on Tuesday travel to Wroxham Reserves (7.30pm).
n In Division One, Scole United played out a 4-4 draw away at Aylsham.
David Coleman was the hero for Scole as he helped himself to a hat-trick, while Ben Norton-Hugman was also on the scoresheet.
The visitors also saw James Platt red carded — an offence that resulted in Aylsham scoring an injury-time equaliser to salvage themselves a point.
n Scole United Reserves ran out 4-2 winners in the Division Five South derby with East Harling Reserves.
Jay Rose bagged a brace, with Matthew Heuschneider and Jack Payne’s strike from distance rounding off the scoring.
