Diss and District Angling Club’s Pairs Cup was fished on Sunday, with just seven anglers bracing themselves against the cold for day sport.
Pairs were drawn and Andrew Mears had what over the last few years has proved to be the winning formula by having to double his weight as he was the one to go without a partner.
Once again it worked as Mears took top place on the day and he did not need to double his weight on his way to yet another trophy.
Mears used the method rod and chucked to the far sticks to pick up fish for his winning weight of 10lb off Larters peg.
Second went the way of Stephen Edwards, who worked very hard for his 5lb 13oz of small silver fish. Third was John Mears with 3lb 4oz.
