Thetford Town have been granted a Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division lifeline, while AFC Sudbury face Suffolk derbies against three teams following confirmation of their place in the Ryman League Premier Division.
Danny White’s Thetford looked destined to spend the 2016-17 season in Division One following their 19th-placed finish last term.
However, the introduction of four new teams at that level, as well as Ryman League Division One North side Wroxham earning a reprieve of their own, has meant that Town remain at step five.
The four sides added to Division One are Clacton-based Holland FC, Wisbech St Mary, Framlingham Town and Coggeshall United.
That latter of that quartet - Coggeshall - had singer-songwriter Olly Murs play for them on occasions last season.
As for champions Sudbury, they have joined a league that includes local rivals Needham Market, Leiston and Lowestoft Town, who were relegated from the National League North on goal difference.
Bury Town and Soham Town Rangers remain in the Ryman League Division One North along with Thurlow Nunn champions Norwich United.
Meanwhile, Ely City have been promoted back to the Thurlow Nunn top flight thanks to their runners-up finish behind winners Wivenhoe Town.
