Diss Town Reserves suffered a 2-0 defeat on the road in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League as they lost out 2-0 away at Newmarket Town Reserves.
The two teams went into the game with the same number of points and the same goal difference with Newmarket having played one game more.
As expected the game proved to be a close affair which turned on a defensive slip with both goalkeepers having top quality games.
The teams have met twice this season, both winning their home game by two clear goals.
Despite creating good chances Diss’ finishing let them down and they were punished when a defensive slip in the 67th minute allowed Lynn to run through and shoot in.
And 10 minutes from time Sam Langham managed to loop a header from 15 yards out into the roof of the net to wrap up the win.
