Diss Town find themselves nine points adrift of safety with just five games to go in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division following a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Newmarket Town.

Matt Dixon opened the scoring for the Tangerines but Newmarket came back with goals with Mark Webster and Lee Clift to put the visitors ahead after 47 minutes.

However, Dixon struck again with a spectacular 30-yard effort to snatch a share of the spoils.

In the First Division, seventh-placed Debenham LC proved no match for table-topping Swaffham Town, who cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Elsewhere, Diss Rugby Club sealed their London Two North East playoff place with 26-5 victory over Campion.
