The second round of handicap matches took place in the Diss and District Table Tennis League this week, which saw Roydon have the biggest win with a 14-4 defeat of Newton Flotman B.
Nigel Manning was Roydon's star performer with a maximum six wins and was well backed up by team mates, Alan Connelly and Andy Dow, with four wins apiece. John Williams gained three of Flotman's points.
Palgrave Stars beat Shotguns F 13-5, which saw Ragiv Chaudhary also unbeaten with some comfortable wins. David Leeder and Tom Bailey, with four and three wins respectively, aided the win.
Botesdale Batters were beaten by Aslacton B 12-6 and are unlikely to progress to the next stages after losing both their group matches. Nigel Barker the chief destroyer with 6 wins backed up with 4 wins from Lionel Coe. Bill Christoforo chipped in with 4 wins for the Batters.
A two-man Shotguns D team lost 7-11 to Shotguns B, where Chris Jones won 3 out of his games played.
Palgrave Tornadoes beat Shotguns E 10-8. Alan Worthington dropped only one leg to Holly Fleming. Ted Ling took 3 wins as did Fleming and Robin Shaw for the E team.
Withersdale Bees also had a 10-8 win at Thrandeston, where Steve Griffee was the man in form, also only dropping one leg to Kevin Smith.
Barney Garrod supported with 3 wins, as did Chris Willoughby and Smith for Thrandeston.
Most of the groups are still evenly poised and the final round of matches will decide on which teams progress to second round.
In the Leisure Sport Premier Division, Shotguns B beat Aslacton A 10-0 and in the Speedy Bat Sports First Division Shotguns D leaped up to second in the table after beating Diss Table Tennis 8-2.
The D team are a point behind leaders Palgrave Stars with a match in hand.
This Sunday sees the league championships take place at Hartismere High School, Eye, starting with the Handicap singles at 9am.
