Diss Vikings surprised their Norfolk Petanque League Division One hosts Eccles Les Garniers in the second round of the Knights Rosettes Knockout Plate by holding them to 1-1 in the triples.
Peter Turner, Tony Bigley and Peter Atkins were the victorious trio, beating Shirley Secker, Chris Golding and Ray Cottee 13-11.

Michael Lotarius, Brian Lawrence and Les Hensley avoided home blushes with a 13-6 victory in the other triples over Yoshi Shinagawa, Peter Beales and debutant Tom Dickinson.

The hosts pulled away in the second half of the match, with victories in all three doubles to record a 4-1 victory, dropping just 12 points in the process.
