Snetterton is revving up for one of the most diverse meetings on its 2009 calendar, with a double-header visit from the British F3 and GT Championships at the weekend.
The Cooper Tires British F3 International Series is one of the world's premier training grounds for future F1 stars, with Jenson Button and Nigel Mansell among the series' graduates.
Carlin Motorsport's Daniel Ricciardo currently leads the standings after scoring three victories this season to date. However, with four other drivers also taking race wins – including Hitech Racing's Walter Grubmuller and JTR's Nick Tandy, who lie second and third in the championship – the title challenge remains wide open.
A host of sleek supercars including Ferraris, Porsches and Aston Martins will also take to the track, with two one-hour endurance races from the Avon Tyres British GT Championship.
British GT produces drama both on the track and in the pit lane, as each race features mandatory pit stops and driver swaps.
The 2009 championship chase is particularly tight, as a single point separates the leading Ascari of brothers David and Godfrey Jones from the Dodge Viper of Aaron Scott and Craig Wikins.
In addition to the British F3 and GT Championships, there will also be a packed programme of support races including the Formula Palmer Audi and British Formula Ford Championships, plus a free driver autograph session.
Tickets for the British F3 and GT Championships at Snetterton Saturday and Sunday cost from £16 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or visit www.snetterton.co.uk
