For those of either a vulnerable or nervous disposition, look away now.
In fact, don't poke your head out from behind the sofa until Christmas time.

By then, it might – just – be safe to take another peek at your beloved Canaries.

And, for once, we're not talking about events on the pitch.

They will continue on their merry way for the next few months come-what-may; Antoine Sibierski's arrival near the midnight hour on Monday will, hopefully, enable City to turn half-decent performances into some much-needed points.

Off it, of course, and events of this week are all set to test the patience – not to mention the nerves – of all concerned following the sudden resignations of Andrew and Sharon Turner from the board.

In an instant, a carefully-planned succession went out of the nearest window as Delia and Michael's heirs apparent opted to suddenly drop their interest; in an instant, the spectre of Peter Cullum returned to haunt the club's every move.

'Spectre' appears a rather odd choice of word for someone with £1.7 billion up their sleeve and an apparent desire to take control of the Carrow Road club.

Which way his wind was blowing was rather hard to fathom given that the evening newspaper had his interest cooling; next minute and the morning paper had the Towergate insurance magnate sat by his phone waiting for Delia to ring.

Either way, Cullum casts a long shadow over proceedings; should a sale finally proceed, there will be a section of support wondering what happens next.

If you're a Latics fan, Dave Whelan's millions have given Wigan Athletic the time of their Premiership lives; if you're a Newcastle United supporter, you have to wonder just what good Mike Ashley's millions have done at St James'.

Whether Cullum is the only show in town is doubtful; as Ipswich proved with the arrival of Marcus Evans, there's more than one millionaire who is happy to take a punt on a ticket to the Premiership.

Done on the cheap and you can nick a place in the top flight for next to nothing.

The real test of their resolve comes when you're asked to dip again in your pockets for the kind of players that you need to keep yourselves there.

Evans has yet to be put to that test; for Cullum the big moment will come when that first £20 million runs dry.... now what, Pete?

In fact, the more you think about it, the more the 'fun' could only have just begun...
