Metaltec Suffolk and Ipswich League,
Senior Division, St Johns 3 Stonham Aspal 3: STONHAM visited newly-promoted St Johns, expecting a hard game and they were not disappointed.
After holding a three-goal lead at half-time, they returned with only a point.

Scott Flatman picked up a nasty injury and was replaced by Stephen Locke.

This signalled three quick goals – the first by Jim Garnham at the far post and two classics by the evergreen Marty Moye just before half-time.

To their credit, St Johns fought back and reduced the deficit with a penalty rebound after Karl Daniels had saved the initial shot.

They scored two quick goals five minutes from time, and although both sides could have won the match in the dying minutes, it was St Johns who were the happier side at the final whistle.

Fram's Matty Bayfield headed over the arms of his own keeper, Aaron Read, to bring Bergholt back into the game.

Stradbroke found themselves 2-0 down at half time but they produced a great fight back in the second half.

They pulled a goal back from the penalty spot by Kyle Wythe and within a few minutes they were level at 2-2 when Kevin Ellis netted. When Ellis netted his second three minutes from time it looked to be the winner but back came Sizewell to take a share of the points.
