Goal hero Danny Wright refused to get swept away with the euphoria of Histon's FA Cup giant-killing victory over League One Swindon Town.
The Attleborough-based striker scored the winning goal in Saturday's first round upset and was in demand after the match for television and national newspaper interviews.
But hours later, the striker was back in his home town celebrating with friends in nightspots including DJ's Bar, and on Monday returned to work as a carpenter at Oakley Coach Builders in Besthorpe.
"I had a good a response when I went into work," said Wright, 24.
"They had the papers out and there was plenty of banter flying around."
Swindon, who were playing in the Premier League in the 1990s, were favourites to beat non-League side Histon, who play two leagues lower in the Blue Square Premier.
But thanks to a second-half strike from the former Attleborough High School pupil, it was the Cambridgeshire side who progressed through to the second round of the world's most famous cup competition and set up a tie with Leeds United or Northampton Town on Sunday, November 30, which will be screened live on ITV1.
"We knew we were good enough to beat Swindon," said the former Attleborough Town forward, who joined Histon last year.
"Everyone else said we were massive underdogs but all the players and the coaching staff knew we had a good chance of an upset.
"They did have spells of pressure but we gave a good account of ourselves and for the Blue Square Premier. It is always a bonus to score a goal, although it was not one of my best, but I was just pleased for the club to get through."
Wright's parents, Christopher and Christine, were among the 1,542 fans at the Glassworld Stadium on Saturday, while his younger brother Steven, who plays for Diss Town, was at home ill and older brother Matty was playing for Attleborough Town.
The following day family and friends gathered at their home in Sheppard Way, Attleborough, to watch the second round draw and see Histon handed a potentially mouthwatering tie with Leeds United or Northampton Town, depending on the outcome of their replay on Tuesday.
Wright said: "Leeds were one of the big teams we were looking out for, especially for me as some of my family support them.
"They are a massive club and it would be a very big game for Histon. We would would like it to be Leeds but if it is Northampton, it would still be a big game."
The pacy striker was still playing for Attleborough Town in the Anglian Combination four years ago before he made the step up to play Ridgeons League football for Dereham Town, under the management of Robert Taylor who is now in charge at Diss.
Wright joined Histon at the tail end of the 2006/07 season and managed to score 18 goals for the Stutes in the last campaign.
Saturday's strike was Wright's eighth in 12 starts, in a season that sees Histon among the front runners in the Blue Square Premier chasing promotion to the Football League.
