Diss Angling Club's Barry Day is making a name for himself in his first season at the club.
Once again he take the honours at Eye Pond's new side, with a mixed bag of fish of 8lb 2.5oz.

Second was Colin Lea who fished the pole for his bag which weighed 7lb 1.5oz.

Third was Duggie Burrows with 4lb.

Controversy hit the draw at Saturday's match at Diss Mere, when not enough pegs were put in the bag and a re-draw was called.

Robert Foulger did not draw as well second time but this did not stop him taking first place with a bag of crucians, roach and two goldfish, totalling 28lb 9oz.

Steve Harold took second place with his bag of roach taken on hemp from hot peg 19. He weighed in 17lb 12oz but believed 20lb plus would have been achievable if he had taken the time to prepare his own bait, rather than using tinned hemp.

Third was Stephen Edwards with 16lb 0.5oz.

Andrew Mears laid claim to his first cup of the season when he took the Twist Cup at Hoxne.

Mears scratched about for his winning weight of 3lb 15oz.

Second, and the final place of the day, went to Keith Rodwell, with 2lb 15.5oz of waggler caught sliver fish.

The club's outing match at Taswood's Cinnamon Lake is on Sunday, July 27, with the draw at 9am and fishing 10am-4pm.
