Worker who died repairing cable was a 'one-off'
The widow of an EDF Energy employee who died after working on a power cable in Diss has described her husband as a "one-off."
Jonathan Crosby, of Dickleburgh, was tending to a cable at an electrical pole in Sawmills Road last Friday at about 10.30am, when he sustained serious injuries during his work.
Mr Crosby, 45, known as Jon, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment but later died.
His widow, Carolyn Crosby, said: "He was a one-off – a wonderful husband and father. Nothing can ever describe the pain we are feeling.
"I have been overwhelmed with support and kindness from so many people, including his colleagues who are themselves suffering terribly. I cannot thank them enough."
Power was cut off in the area for about three hours from 3.30pm while police and the Health and Safety Executive investigated.
The Parlock Quality Products site and homes at Ashbrooke Meadow housing estate were affected.
The investigation into Mr Crosby's death continues.
