WHAT better way to toast the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton than with a sip of what is described as a marriage made in heaven.
To commemorate the royal occasion, the English Whisky Company, at Roudham, has launched a William and Kate commemorative decanter filled with a whisky that contains their acclaimed unpeated ‘Chapter 6’ whisky, combined with ageing in a red wine cask.
Andrew Nelstrop, the firm’s managing director, said the one-off whisky also contains a hint of smoke.
“It has got remarkable quality and has nearly sold out, but we are getting some more in the next few weeks,” he said.
“We knew we had to do something for the royal wedding.”
The distillery has had a brush with royalty in the past - Prince Charles opened it in May 2007.
The William and Kate edition sells for £65, plus postage and packing.
