Wedding on a tractor borrowed for two

A HORSE-DRAWN cart, vintage Rolls Royce or even a limousine are all ways to arrive in style at a wedding.

But last weekend Charles Clarke showed up at Scole Inn in something more in-keeping with his farming background - a tractor.

Mr Clarke said turning up on the brand new Ford tractor caused quite a stir, but wife, Louise, did not mind the off-the-wall idea.

"Louise was very supportive of it," said Mr Clarke, 33.

"Although it is not everyone's idea of romance, it is a little giggle and gives everyone something to smile about.

"There were quite a lot of children there who thought it was brilliant, and there were quite a few big boys there who liked it too."

Mr and Mrs Clarke live at the 85-acre family farm in Banham, which Mr Clarke runs with his father. He borrowed the tractor from the Wymondham branch of Ernest Doe.

"We've been dealing with them for quite a few years," said Mr Clarke. "We've had Ford tractors for 60 years. My granddad had bought Ford tractors and dad had one and we've got a new one ourselves."

The couple are spending their honeymoon in Kenya.
