Waveney Foodbank hailed the generosity of supporters this week, after reaching its fundraising target to pay for a new delivery van.

The charity, operating from the Airfield Industrial Estate in Brome, received sufficient donations for a Nissan Primastar to replace its current 15-year-old Fiat Doblo, which it uses to help distribute around 1.5 tonnes of food to people in need around north Suffolk and south Norfolk.

Graham Reardon, the Waveney Foodbank manager, said: “All the food we distribute is donated by a generous and caring public.

“The van is in constant use to collect much of this food and deliver it to our warehouse.”

The Foodbank thanked the support of Diss Van Centre, Diss and District Rotary Club, Harleston Rotary Club, All Churches Trust, Yorkshire Building Society Community Foundation, the Bishop of Norwich Community Foundation, and The Saracen’s Norfolk Fund.
