Video: Diss Mere's Mouth dancing

Members of the Norwich Early Dance Group entertained shoppers in Diss at the Mere's Mouth on Saturday.

The group put on three sessions during the day with performances of an 18th Century dance they had devised especially for the town's Thomas Paine Festival.

Music was supplied by a musician playing the hurdy-gurdy.

The festival, run by Diss Museum, marks the 200th anniversary of the death of the 18th Century author, whose writings launched social change across two continents.

The next festival event is on Saturday, May 2, when the re-enactors of the First American Regiment Queen's Rangers will be in Diss, from 10.30am to 4pm, to provide entertainment with their marching and drilling in the park and town centre.
