Vandalism sees beehives tipped over and bees killed in south Norfolk village

About £1,600 of damage has been caused after four beehives were pushed over in south Norfolk, killing many bees.

The incident left the beekeeper feeling very upset and happened between 11am on Thursday, March 12 and 11.20am on Thursday, March 19 at an address in Wymondham Road, Ashwellthorpe.

PC Tim Tyler said: “This crime has caused significant loss to the beekeeper and at the moment the financial cost of this vandalism is estimated at £1,600.

“The victim is understandably upset and it will take him many years to rebuild the bee colony so I would very much like to hear from anyone who may have more information about the incident.”
