UK Power Networks is arranging to cut back trees from an overhead power line in Thornham Parva after they caused contact and flames overnight.

The issue, which happened in Bull Road, was reported to the operator at noon today. An engineer was out within an hour to assess the situation.

A spokesperson added: “No power supplies were affected.

“We are investing £13m in tree trimming across East Anglia in 2016/17 to keep tree branches away from power lines and help prevent power cuts.”

Fire crews from Norfolk and Suffolk also attended the scene just after noon today.
