Eighteen-year-old Harry Powell has started up his own computer business from his own home in Farm Close, Diss.
The company, ‘Powell’s PC’s’, offers its customers a wide range of services from web design to mobile repairs, home ICT support as well as business support and solutions.
Harry, who has just finished sixth form at Diss High School, set up the company in February but could only run on a small scale due to his educational commitments.
He can now put all his focus into his new business, something which has been his passion for a long time.
He said: “I have been doing IT all my life, and enjoyed it. From about the age of 12 I was helping people with their electronic devices.”
He decided that setting up the business was a better path to take than to continue his studies further.
“In honesty, by the time I had finished my A-Levels, I’d had enough of education. University has become very expensive and I was just keen to get out there now and get my business started.”
In the long run, Harry has high hopes for his business but in the meantime he is just looking to get his name known in the local area.
He said: “In the future I hope to maybe have a shop and then extend to more than one branch but for now the main focus is just to get out there and get known. The business didn’t cost much to set up and any money that I makes stays in the business to help it progress and grow.”
