Storytime characters add a touch of magic to fair

LITTLE Bo-Peep lost her sheep at the procession and fair at Gislingham.

The procession led by the Gislingham Silver Band started at the Six Bells pub and featured a line-up of popular children’s story characters together with Twinkle-Twinkle Little Star and other fine fancy dress efforts.

The fair is the first the village has seen and was a successful community event according to organisers.

There were activities on the charity meadow of Gislingham School and the refreshments were so popular that a special trip was required to get more burgers.

More than 300 people visited the games in the meadow and watched the procession.

Gislingham Silver Band secretary Peter Lucas said: “It was a very successful day and there will definitely be one next year.”

He added that the experience provided an ideal opportunity for everyone in the community to pull together.
