Stars swap Hollywood for. . . here!
What a star-studded month it has been – and I am not talking about the annual dose of film awards.
No, it seems the place to be if you are a celebrity is right here... in the Diss area!
In the past fortnight, double gold Olympic medallist Dame Kelly Holmes and I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here winner and former England Test cricket Phil Tufnell have both graced the streets of Diss.
And if you switched the telly on last Friday, there was Diss' Gazes auction room on BBC TV's Bargain Hunt.
There will be more of Diss on the box because an episode of broadcaster Sarah Beeney's latest series Property Ladder was filmed here at the tail end of last year.
In fact, this area has increasingly become a hive of celebrity activity and sightings over the past decade or so.
From the rock world, Kinks legend Ray Davies once ran a songwriting school in Blo' Norton, former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor has been spotted enjoying a pint or two in our pubs, while prog rock legend Rick Wakeman has settled in Scole and is gearing up to help with Diss' returning carnival.
It's not just people from Planet Music who have descended on this area. Don't be surprised if you bump into film and TV actors Bernard Hill, Amanda Donohoe, Martin Shaw or Helen Fraser or – so rumour keeps having it – Johnny Depp in the street.
Or you could find yourself standing on the touchline with the likes of former international footballers Trevor Whymark and Ollie Burton or current England sport stars Dan Hipkiss and Matthew Upson.
So the next time you get into one of those 'what's so famous about such and such a place...' pub debates, you have the answer.
