Stage, film and TV actress Maxine Peake was in Palgrave last Friday to help launch two films and raise money for charity in the process.

The two short films, Aeolian and Strange Weather were both shot in this area, directed by Tom Shrapnel, and were given their premiere at Palgrave Community Centre.

Maxine Peake was the star of Strange Weather.

Other guests include Tom’s father, the actor John Shrapnel.

A quiz followed and £900 was raised for St Nicholas Hospice in Bury.

The event was organised by the Rickinghall Area Hospice Fundraisers (RAHOF)
