Public places are down in the dumps

Two community resources have been temporarily spoiled by dog mess.

In Eye on Friday, a large amount of dog mess was dumped at the skate park by the community centre, making it unusable.

Town Councillor Penny McSheehy was on her way to the community centre when she noticed the mess.

“I saw two lads looking very glum at the park. It seemed like someone had deposited the contents of the dog mess bin on to the ramp. The whole thing is gross, it’s disgusting.”

In Fressingfield, a referee nearly called off a football match at the sports field this month due to the amount of dog mess.

The parish council has warned the football club is in danger of being blacklisted by visiting teams if owners continue to allow their dogs to foul on the pitch.

Parish council chairman George Frost said: “We are taking action and putting up notices. There’s a lot of effort put into sustaining that pitch and then this sort of thing happens.”
