A planning application for 200 new homes in Attleborough has been submitted to Breckland Council.
Lodged by Orbit Homes, the plan, for land at Haverscroft House Farm in London Road, also includes associated infrastructure, roads, open space, landscaping, pumping station, electrical substation, trim trail, and cycle paths. In documents to the district authority on behalf of the applicant, it is claimed the site is currently used for agricultural production, and has been identified as an area for growth opportunities in the superseded Draft Attleborough and Snetterton Heath Area Action Plan and the emerging Attleborough Neighbourhood Plan.
But the town council has recommended refusal on the plans. They say the land is outside of the core strategy, development boundary, policy boundary and emerging neighbourhood plan. Concern has also been raised about vehicle access, and the development offers “no value” to the town in terms of a Section 106 agreement.
