Paper boy has bike stolen

A paperboy had his bicycle stolen while doing his other part-time job.

Brendan Head, 15, of Roydon, was working extra hours after school on Friday at TW Gaze’s Diss Auction Rooms, when his 140 pride and joy was taken.

His mother reported the incident to the police and is now having to lend Brendan her bicycle so he can continue his paper round for WH Smith.

“I’m very frustrated with the situation – he worked really hard to earn the money to pay for that bike,” she said.

“If it doesn’t get handed in to the police, he will have to save up again to buy himself another one.”

The royal blue Claude Butler racer was taken from the auction house grounds between 4pm and 6.10pm on Friday.

It has a black and grey saddle and white spokes on both wheels, but no disc brakes.

Anyone who knows anything about the bike’s whereabouts should call Diss Police Station, 0845 456 4567.
