Year 6 pupils at Palgrave Primary School have raised £104 which has been donated to Book Aid International.
The children held a bring and buy sale, and held a number of events to mark World Book Day earlier this month.
The charity provides books to promote literacy and education across the world.
Head of school Mrs Julia Waters said: “The plan to help deprived African primary school pupils was the express wish of our pupils, who showed a concern to try to help children less fortunate than themselves.
“An awareness of, and empathy with, what is happening in the wider world is an in important part of the rounded education that we try to provide for our pupils.”
