Owl still at large after break-in
All but one of the ten birds which escaped from the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary after their cages were broken into by vandals has been found.
Locks were cut open on 26 aviaries at the sanctuary at Stonham Barns last Thursday night.
Keepers feared for the safety of the birds as they are hand reared and unable to fend for themselves in the wild, but only an 11-year-old Pharoah Eagle owl remains absent.
Head falconer Andy Hulme said: “These are some very sad individuals who don’t give a damn about the birds and their welfare.”
Police want to speak to a group of three men in their late teens to mid 20s who were seen walking along the A1120 towards the A140 near to the sanctuary at about 8.30am on Friday.
They had shoulder-length hair and were carrying bags.
