More than 120 people were present to celebrate the first year anniversary of new ownership of The Oaksmere on Thursday.

Guests were treated to champagne and ‘Oaksmere Tapas’, including home made scotch eggs and sausage rolls.

Special guests on the day included Dad’s Army star Ian Lavender and former Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman.

A minute’s silence was also observed for Stanton pilot David Jenkins, who had tragically died the day previously after a crash at Old Buckenham Airfield. Mr Jenkins, 61, a Wildcat Aerobatics display team member, had been due to complete a display at the event. £500 was raised in his memory to be donated to a charity of his family’s choice.
