Harleston pensioners are being encouraged to come forward to celebrate Christmas together when a local group stages a party with food and entertainment next month.
The annual event, organised by the Harleston Junior Club, will take place on Wednesday, December 9. It is the 40th party to be held since its inception in 1976,
It is available to town resident’s who do not belong to any organisation in the town. Transport can also be provided for the event.
A cake, raffle and tombola stall is being held on Saturday, November 14, in Union Street from 9am, which is supporting the event.
Mike Whitehouse, chairman of the junior club management committee, said: “Young people get a lot out of helping the elderly, and the realisation that you can get satisfaction from giving as well as receiving.”
If you , or somebody you know, would like to be included, please contact Wendy on 01986 788160
The club is also appealing for previous members who have been involved in the organising of the event over the years to help celebrate the milestone.
