Museum gets plaque for achievement

Diss Museum joins other prestigious institutions, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, after being officially presented with a plaque to celebrate national accreditation.

Sam Rowlands, regional officer at the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council for the East of England, presented Diss Museum chairman of Trustees Clifford Bird with the plaque on Thursday.

Although the museum received accreditation from the council on February 21, the plaque was presented to make the public aware of its achievement.

Mr Rowlands said: “Along with all the basic standards that need to be fulfiled, I was impressed with the phenomenal enthusiasm and dedication in putting themselves forward.”
