With the South Norfolk Youth Symphonic Band (SNYSB) approaching its 41st anniversary next month, we are asking readers to help put names to the faces in this photo from the archives.
Believed to have been taken in the 1990s, this picture shows the full band at Harleston’s Market Place, lined up behind the unmistakable figure of music director and chairman Mike Booty, who founded the group in 1974 and remains at the helm to this day.
The band, which celebrated its 40 year milestone last September with a major reunion and ‘Songs from the Shows’ concert at Diss Corn Hall, has toured Europe and Asia and performed in front of royalty at the Royal Albert Hall during its four decades of existence, and many of its members have progressed into careers as professional musicians.
Can you identify any of the young musicians pictured?
Do you have any memories of SNYSB from years gone by?
