In 2010 our six million customers joined us on a journey to put water at the heart of a whole new way of living, a journey we called Love Every Drop.
This week, we were truly honoured to say that this ambition has won us the highest business accolade possible, a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
I am immensely proud of the progress we have made as a business, but this endorsement would not be possible without the support of all our customers.
The journey doesn’t stop here. The future for the east of England is already bright, but we must future proof ourselves and our environment.
We want to go further to ensure our region, all local communities and our economy continue to flourish.
Customers have shaped our business plan for the next five years, a plan that will see bills fall this year, while we spend around £5 billion on the things which you told us matter most, including looking after essential equipment, protecting communities from extremes of weather and a changing climate.
We’ll also increase voluntary water metering to help encourage greater water efficiency and have declared a £60 million war on leaks, to get to our lowest ever level; and we’re investing £60 million to protect the natural environment.
