May we through your letters page take the opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us in our fundraising efforts for our Peru Trek in aid of The Salvation Army?

It was a trip of a lifetime and together we shared many memories and experiences that we will never ever forget.

The trek itself proved to be both mentally and physically challenging, encountering the effects of altitude sickness, lost toenails, minus eight temperatures while sleeping in a tent and constant transport delays of up to five hours, but all was forgotten when we stood on top of a mountain and took in the magnificent view that was Machu Picchu.

We managed to raise a fantastic amount of nearly £3,500 and would especially like to thank the local businesses that supported us, the individuals who kindly donated, staff and suppliers at Rosedale Funeral Home and all who attended our bingo night and walk of remembrance in aid of the trip, without you we would never have been able to achieve our target.
