Have your say

As a former Eastender I also have a passion, and have spent many hour explaining green gravy pie and mash to people (PG Tips: Virtues of good old East End pie ‘n’ mash, October 9).

I often get “green gravy” and they are surprised to hear that it is parsley sauce that is made from the left over cooking water from stewed eels loads of parsley and cornflour to thicken, no butter, milk or cream in sight “lovely”.

I have hosted many a pie and mash dinner at my table but sadly these days I have to order online.
