Young couple take over her local in north Suffolk village
Marc and Sophie Prescott
An enterprising young couple have taken over a north Suffolk pub, and have already been ringing the changes.
Marc and Sophie Prescott, both in their 20s, have acquired the lease for The Beaconsfield Arms, in Occold.
Last Friday, it reopened under the husband and wife; the latter of whom grew up just 100 yards away from the pub.
The Prescotts have elected to open the pub seven days a week.
Their aim is to offer restaurant food in a pub setting.
The duo have also introduced San Miguel, although the focus is still on real ale, with several regulars on offer and a new guest beer each week. Wine and food nights will be staged, and a Suffolk Night, with Charlie Haylock, is due to take place on March 7.
