A Redgrave-based band are into the final stages of a competition to join legendary rockers KISS on a gig at sea.
Formed in 2008, classic rock band Walkway - which comprises Chris Ready (vocals/rhythm guitar), James Ready (lead guitar/backing vocals), Alex Rosedale (bass/backing vocals) and Joe Evans (drums/backing vocals) - made the final 11 bands to join the make-up clad group on a concert-at-sea, starting on October 31 and departing from Miami, Florida.
Michael Ready, Chris and James’ father and band manager said: “It was something Chris just randomly found. He was sitting there with his laptop on and he came across this competition.
“You never know. We could have a good chance because Walkway are pretty special at what they do. It is unexpected to get this far.”
KISS will be joined on the cruise by another famous band - Cheap Trick, of Rockford, Illinois.
“That would be quite an honour to support those sort of bands. If we got to do that it would be very good profile lift for Walkway.”
The band, who have supported the likes of The Darkness and Black Stone Cherry, are to perform on the undercard of the Status Quo gig at Holkham Hall on Saturday, August 23.
They are currently in the studio finishing their latest album, which is likely to be called Streetwise.
Mr Ready said they hoped it would be ready for release in mid-August, before their show at Holkham Hall.
