More than 80 dog walkers, joined by miniature donkeys, a horse and a llama, took part in the 20th anniversary of the New Year’s Day Charity Walk in Fressingfield.

Not to be deterred by the forecast wind and rain, the group, plus more than 30 dogs, assembled at The Swan Inn and completed the five-mile course to raise money for Help for Heroes.

Organiser Carol Wyatt said: “Our 20th anniversary walk saw many loyal supporters, plus some very welcome new faces, join us to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

“Fortunately most managed to beat the worst of the weather back to the Swan where Mat, our host, had prepared warming soups from ingredients provided by Budgens of Harleston, plus bread from Fressingfield Stores for which we are all really grateful.

“So far we have received almost £1500 with more returns still to come, an excellent result in pretty rough weather conditions.”
