Vandals target Suffolk Owl Sanctuary
All but one of the ten birds which escaped from the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary after their cages were broken into by vandals have been found.
Locks were cut open at the sanctuary at Stonham Barns between 5.30pm last Thursday and 8.30am on Friday.
Keepers at the sanctuary feared for the safety of the birds as they are hand reared and unable to fend for themselves in the wild, but all the birds, except an 11-year-old Pharoah Eagle owl, have since been recovered.
Police want to speak to a group of three men aged in their late teens to mid 20s who were seen walking along the A1120 towards the A140 near to the sanctuary at about 8.30am on Friday.
They had shoulder-length hair and were carrying bags. Calls in relation to this incident should be made to Pc Paul Cocksedge at Eye Police, 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers, 0800 555111.
