A four-vehicle crash on the A140 in Brockford has left three people injured.

It happened at around 11.30am this morning at the junction with Mendlesham.

Emergency services attended, including fire crews from Diss, Eye and Stowmarket.

A Ford Mondeo, Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Colt and a Volkswagen panel van were involved in the collision, from which two people had to be cut free.

A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “Ambulance crews assessed and treated three people in total before taking them to hospital.

“A woman, believed to be in her 50s, suffered a neck injury and was not fully conscious. “A second female casualty, believed to be in her late teens, was suffering from back pain. A man, of unknown age, was also assessed, and was suffering from chest pain.

“All three casualties were taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

“Fortunately none of the casualties were believed to be suffering from critical injuries.”

The road was closed in both directions at 12.20pm, and opened again at around 1pm. Recovery of vehicles was completed by 2pm.
