Diss commuters are advised not to take trains via Norwich this morning following extensive delays and cancellations caused by engineering works at Colchester.
Regular train lines were delayed by up to two hours earlier today after the improvement works fell behind schedule due to technical problems.
The works were completed at 8.30am, but heavy disruption is still expected up until at least noon.
Commuters travelling to London have been told to take the journey via Cambridge, although this line will be running in a limited capacity.
Abellio Greater Anglia issued a statement saying: “If your journey is not essential then customers are advised not to travel.
“We will be running a reduced train service and we expect this to continue for the remainder of the day.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the overrunning engineering work and we are working with Network Rail to restore the normal service as quickly as possible.”
