Plans for a motel and car park to be built by the A140 have been given the green light by councillors.
Proposals for a 25-bedroom motel, to be built next to the Magpie Inn in Stonham Parva, were approved by Mid Suffolk District Council’s planning committee on Wednesday.
The plans include a 28-space car park, which would be built at the front of the motel.
Stonham Parva Parish Council had objected the plans. At a bi-monthly council meeting held in July, all 26 parishioners who attended voted to reject the proposal, with concerns raised over the design and development of the building, and protection of historic buildings in the village, including the 15th century Magpie Inn nearby.
A previous application for a motel at the site was dismissed on appeal in September 2012.
