Stolen Ferrari worth £170,000 found in south Norfolk village
A Ferrari racing car which was stolen from a Norfolk village has been found in Hempnall.
The black Ferrari 430 GT3, worth £170,000, was inside a black PRG ProSporter trailer when it was taken from a hotel car park in Norwich Road, Hethersett, on Thursday evening.
The trailer was towed away by a nearly new, long wheel base white Mercedes Sprinter van.
The trailer was found unopened on farmland off Pymars Lane in Hempnall yesterday morning. The Ferrari was undamaged inside.
PC Matt Coppard, who is investigating the theft, said: “With such extensive coverage of the theft in the local media and online, I believe that whoever took the trailer and car felt they had to dispose of them as it was so widely known that they had been stolen. The owner is delighted that the Ferrari has been recovered, as am I, and I would like to thank the media and everyone else who spread the word.
“Whilst the trailer and car are being returned to the owner, I would still like to hear from anyone with information about the theft. There remains a four-day period when the car and trailer were missing, and someone must have information about where they were being kept and the van that towed them away.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Coppard at Wymondham Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
